Bruce Springsteen took time off from his national tour recently to visit a friend who currently resides in a Monmouth County, N.J., jail for allegedly threatening convicted Wall Street swindler Ivan Boesky. Springsteen’s friend: John A. Mulheren Jr., an executive with a New York securities firm who faces weapons charges for allegedly threatening Boesky. Commented Sheriff William Lanzaro: “I got to meet (Springsteen). He was very nice, a super-nice guy who is very down to earth. He came in like he was just another person. Some of our people didn’t even recognize him. He looks and acts just like anyone else.”
