USC Rallies for 15th Straight Win

With a ninth-inning rally Wednesday, USC earned its 15th straight baseball victory to set a record for the best start in school history.
After one out, the Trojans scored seven runs on five singles, one double and three walks in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat Chapman College, 7-6, at Dedeaux Field.
“It was an unbelievable win,” USC Coach Mike Gillespie said. “You can’t exactly get to the ninth, be down by six and feel like you got them where you want them. It was so emotional.
“The timing of this is good. Now the whole idea of the record is over and we can move on and begin conference play Friday with this behind us.”
USC entertains Stanford this weekend in a three-game series.
