Tinkering With Airport’s Name
In reply to Daryl Flood of Orange (Jan. 31) regarding the John Wayne Airport and the suggestion for a Bob Hope Airport:
Everyone knows what Bob Hope has done for the Armed Forces of the United States. Can Daryl Flood tell me one thing that John Wayne did for the Armed Forces, Orange County or any public service?
Yes, he made a lot of money in the movies by always being the hero and made himself an idol to the public who thought of him in real life the way he was pictured on the screen.
Five or 10 years from now, the rest of the world will ask, “Where is John Wayne Airport?” Return the name to Orange County Airport.
