Chapman’s Walker Advances to Tennis Championships Final

Miles Walker of Chapman College, the second-ranked player in NCAA Division II, won two matches Wednesday to advance to the Rolex Small College National Indoor tennis championships final in Minneapolis.
Walker will face Pat Emmet, the top-ranked player in Division II, today at 9 a.m. The winner will earn the right to play in the large schools’ championships, which start this afternoon in Minneapolis.
Walker defeated Marc Billone of Bloomsburg, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, in the quarterfinals and Vesa Ponkka of Tennessee Martin, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4, in a semifinal.
Emmet reached the final by defeating Torin Schultz of Foothill College, 6-4, 6-3, and Johan Dysholm of Midland, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
