Deteriorating Southland Beaches and the Victims of the Storm

A paragraph deep in your storm coverage struck me. Five hundred or so tourists stranded on Santa Catalina Island found refuge in Avalon’s hotels that, for the most part, cut their rates 50% to 75%.
So for all those warm-hearted island hotel keepers, let’s join in the last line of the song,
“I think I’ll travel on,
to A-va-lon.”
