The California Public Utilities Commission has approved Southern California Edison’s request to form a holding company. Under the plan, Edison would become a subsidiary of the holding company, but would continue to operate as a regulated electric utility with the same service territory. The plan must receive final approval from Edison’s shareholders at the company’s April 21 annual meeting.
