ORLANDO, Fla. — Former heavyweight champion George Foreman recorded his sixth straight knockout since emerging from a 10-year retirement, leveling Tom Trimm in the first round Saturday night.
Foreman, weighing 243 pounds, maneuvered Trimm, 222, into a neutral corner, then measured him with a left before connecting with a straight right to the temple, ending the fight. Foreman, 40, improved to 51-2 with 48 knockouts. Trimm fell to 36-12-1.
“One thing that’s starting to come back is that presence I had in the ring,” Foreman said. “All of a sudden, it’s not so nice to look over and see George Foreman standing there.”
Trimm was selected to face Foreman at the last moment after two opponents were dropped when irregularities were discovered in their records.
