Egyptians Warned to Curb Power Use

CAIRO — Egypt’s energy chief urged Egyptians on Saturday to cut their use of power during 1988, warning them it will be a hard year for supplies.
Electricity Minister Maher Abaza said his countrymen have one of the highest rates of electricity use in the world although nearly a decade of drought has curtailed output at power stations on the Nile River.
