NEW YORK — One woman was hospitalized and 33 other people were treated for injuries after a form of tear gas was sprayed in their faces while they stood at a subway platform during rush hour.
Those injured were waiting at a Manhattan station Wednesday night when at least one person aboard a Queens-bound train apparently sprayed “some kind of Mace-like agent” at them as the train was pulling out, Transit Authority spokesman Bob Slovak said. Transit police said today they had no leads or suspects.
