The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center will hold a community meeting tonight to discuss its plans to open a satellite office in the Silverlake-Echo Park area.
The center, at 1213 N. Highland Ave. in Hollywood, provides counseling and therapy, youth rap groups, vocational services, support groups for people who test positive for the AIDS antibody, legal services and educational programs.
Discussion about special outreach to Spanish-speaking homosexuals is also under way.
Executive Director Eric E. Rofes said the center is planning a satellite to make those services more accessible to its many clients in the Silverlake-Echo Park area.
The center hopes to recruit a support group in the community to assist in the establishment of the site.
The community meeting will be at 7:30 p.mn. at St. Athanasius-St. Paul Episcopal Church, 850 Echo Park Ave.
