Prep Soccer : Orange Lutheran Defeats Valley Christian, 2-1, Stays Unbeaten

Del Montell and Scott Runyan scored goals to lead Orange Lutheran High School to a 2-1 victory over Valley Christian Friday in the semifinals of the Orange Lutheran tournament.
The Lancers (3-0) will play Ontario Christian in the championship game today at Orange Lutheran at 1 p.m.
Montell scored 10 minutes into the match and Runyan at the 20-minute mark to give the Lancers a 2-0 lead.
Goalie Sean Hopper made four saves in shutting out Valley Christian in the first half. Sean Kennedy made four saves in the second half.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Beach 3, Orange 0--Jeff Poe scored two goals and Brien Tyus one to lead the Artists (6-2, 2-0) at Orange. The Panthers are 5-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in league.
In a nonleague match:
La Habra 1, Garden Grove 1--Melchor Carillo scored 20 minutes into the first half to give La Habra (4-2-4) a tie at Garden Grove. Goalie Jason Keller made three saves for the Highlanders. The Argonauts are 2-1-1.
In a girls’ match:
In the Freeway League:
Sonora 2, Troy 1--Laurie Thompson scored two goals for the Raiders (4-2-1, 1-0) in the league opener.
Sunny Hills 4, Rosary 3--Kim Harris scored two goals to lead the Lancers (3-4, 1-0). Karen Miltenberger had all three goals for Rosary.
