Valley Women Win Basketball Opener

Dametra Johnson scored 20 points to lead the Valley College women’s basketball team to an 83-64 victory over Moorpark in the Monarchs’ season opener Friday at Valley.
Valley jumped ahead, 40-27, at halftime and led by as much as 30 points midway through the second half. Five Monarchs scored in double figures.
