A recent state prison parolee pleaded innocent Monday to charges that he committed eight residential burglaries, including one at the Hollywood home of Allan Funt, host of television’s “Candid Camera.”
David Washington, 31, pleaded innocent to six counts of burglary, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of sodomy, two counts of rape and one count each of robbery and assault with intent to commit rape. He remained in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail.
Prosecutors said Washington broke into Funt’s home Thursday and was confronted by a female secretary whom he punched. He allegedly threatened a gardener with a knife and later chased the secretary down the street with a knife before being frightened off by a police officer.
