Orange County Community College Roundup : Rancho Santiago Beats Cypress

Lewis Victoria scored six goals to lead the Rancho Santiago water polo team to a 14-11 victory over Cypress in an Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday at Rancho Santiago.

Jerry Zentko added four goals for the Dons. Cypress (2-5 in conference) was led by Matt Rivere and Kurt Randolph with four goals apiece.

In other Orange Empire water polo action:

Saddleback 11, Citrus 8--Denny Bethke scored four goals to lead the Gauchos, third-ranked in the state. Saddleback is 11-1, 7-1.

San Diego Mesa 16, Orange Coast 12--Modesto Sanchez had five goals and Chris Duncan added three in a losing effort for the Pirates at OCC.

In Orange Empire men’s soccer action:

Orange Coast 4, Cypress 1--Chris Peterson scored two goals in the second half to lead the Pirates (6-3-2, 4-1-1). Steve Buzzetta scored for Cypress (2-6-2, 1-3-2).

In South Coast Conference action:

Golden West 2, Fullerton 0--Goalie Erik Smith had 11 saves in recording the shutout at Fullerton. George Rojas and Kurt Lundberg scored for Golden West.
