Fiat, Italy’s largest industrial group and auto maker, is launching a foray into the world of television, officials of the Milan-based firm said. Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera, which is indirectly controlled by Fiat, said it has obtained an option to buy a 50% stake in Tele Monte-Carlo, a Monaco-based private TV station broadcasting in Italy, from Brazilian television company Rede Globo. The right of option is good for a year from the signing of a final agreement, expected in the next few days, a spokeswoman for RCS said.
