Resort in Indian Wells to Be Completed Next Year

Completion of the $90-million Stouffer Indian Wells Resort in Indian Wells, the second-largest complex of its kind in the Coachella Valley, is scheduled for the end of 1988.
Located adjacent to both the Grand Champions golf course and the Indian Wells Golf Resort at California 111 and Indian Wells Lane, the project is a joint venture of Stouffer Hotels of Solon (Cleveland), Ohio, and BCE Development, Irvine.
The architect is Hornberger, Worstill & Associates, San Francisco, and the contractor is McCarthy/Pacific, Irvine. The complex will have 562 rooms, 150,000 square feet of meeting facilities and four specialty restaurants.
It will also have more than 15 acres of lakes and other water-oriented features.
