Not to make anyone feel old or anything, but Dick Clark’s “American Bandstand,” now in its 35th season--has been ensconced in the Guinness Book of World Records as TV’s longest-running program. First broadcast in 1952 from WFIL-TV in Philadelphia, the show eventually went on to the ABC network and next season will begin first-run syndication with LBS Communications Inc., Clark’s production company announced. During its record run, “American Bandstand” has played more than 65,000 records, has been host to more than 10,000 musical guests and presented more than 600,000 dancing teen-agers on camera. Clark and Co. are throwing a wingding at Chasen’s restaurant Sept. 14 to celebrate their longevity.
