Irvine Little League Team Wins to Earn Berth in the World Series

Aron Garcia pitched a two-hitter Saturday as the Northwood Little League All-Stars of Irvine defeated Northern California, 15-0, at Al Houghton Stadium in San Bernardino to win the Western Regional championship and earn a berth in the Little League World Series.
Northwood is the first Orange County team to reach the World Series since the Bolsa Grande Little League team did so in 1968. The series begins Tuesday at Williamsport, Pa.
Northwood scored three runs in the first, two in the second, four in the fifth and six in the sixth for its 16th consecutive victory.
Northwood outscored opponents, 40-1, in its last three games.
