LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The nation’s highest court ruled today that Swiss bank documents relating to the Iran- contra scandal should be handed over to U.S. investigators.
The federal court thereby rejected an appeal by retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard V. Secord, Iranian-born U.S. businessman Albert A. Hakim and Iranian entrepreneur Manucher Ghorbanifar against a Geneva court ruling which had ordered the documents released. The documents relate to the millions of dollars allegedly channeled through Swiss bank accounts as part of U.S. arms sales to Iran.
