25 Die in Chinese Mine

BEIJING — A mine shaft in central Sichuan province collapsed in a gas explosion, killing 25 people, the official China Daily reported Monday. The Aug. 10 accident occurred at a coal mine near the town of Dashu, 1,300 miles southwest of Beijing.
