Santa Ana : New Principal Chosen for Foothill High School

James A. Ryan, who has been principal at Indio High School since 1984, is the new principal of Foothill High School in the Tustin Unified School District, district officials announced.
Ryan succeeds Jim Turner, who is retiring after 30 years in education. Ryan is expected to assume his duties at Foothill High on Monday.
Before becoming principal at Indio, Ryan was assistant principal for 11 years at Miraleste High in Palos Verdes and administrative dean for two years at Narbonne High School in Los Angeles. He began his career in education as a teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1956.
He has a bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and a master’s degree from Cal State Los Angeles.
