U.S. Ships in Persian Gulf
After the trillions of dollars spent by the Reagan Administration on “defense,” we are again treated to the appalling mental ineptitude of our “warriors” who apparently forgot about the century-old problem of mines in sea lanes.
This ineptitude is one of the best arguments for continuous, phased disarmament. Perhaps the Soviet leadership has recognized the mental deficiencies in their own military ranks and thus has taken new initiatives to achieve such phased disarmament.
The last thing we need is to give the current-and-future-Reagan-war zealots more trillions for “Star Wars.” If these “geniuses” can’t recognize mines in the Persian Gulf as a potential threat, how are they going to anticipate all (or even most) of the unknown variables in a “Star Wars” scenario that has never occurred before?
