L.A. Parade for the Lakers
If anyone doubts that Tom Bradley and company have sawdust where their brains ought to be, one has only to review the events of June 16.
The entire downtown area was immobilized to give a parade for the Lakers, a basketball team that doesn’t even play in Los Angeles in the first place.
Downtown traffic, which is bad even in the best of times, was at a complete standstill. If such an event was justified, why was it not held on Saturday or Sunday?
So if the Inglewood Lakers ever again win a championship, let the city of Inglewood throw a bash for them. Don’t disrupt those of us who are forced to make a living in downtown Los Angeles.
