The chairman of a House panel that oversees the Nuclear Regulatory Commission stepped up his attack on Thomas M. Roberts, asking the NRC for internal memos concerning the embattled commissioner. Rep. Sam Gejdenson (D-Conn.), in a letter to NRC Chairman Lando W. Zech Jr., requested “any and all” memorandums, correspondence, notes, records of telephone conversations and any other documents concerning Roberts and the commission’s investigations office. Gejdenson has accused Roberts of trying to stifle government investigations of utilities.
