Former world featherweight champion Bobby Chacon, fighting for the first time since November of 1985, survived three knockdowns in the first two rounds and scored a third-round technical knockout over Martin Guevara in a scheduled 10-round lightweight fight Tuesday night.

Referee Bobby Ferrara stopped the bout at 2:01 of the third round after Chacon had landed about 30 unanswered punches and had Guevara slumped against the ropes in Guevara’s corner.

Chacon, the 35-year-old former World Boxing Council featherweight and super featherweight champion, improved his record to 58-7-1 with 46 knockouts.
