Osterkamp Named Coach at Mt. SAC

Ralph Osterkamp, an assistant to Gene Victor at Mt. San Antonio College for the past 17 seasons, was named to replace Victor as head basketball coach, the college announced Tuesday.

Last week, Victor of of Huntington Beach, announced his retirement from coaching and teaching after 28 years. Victor, 61, was 671-392 and had his best season in 1984-85, when Mt. San Antonio won 28 games, a single-season school record, and advanced to the state tournament quarterfinals.

This will the first head coaching job for Osterkamp, 47.
