The presidents of Honduras and Guatemala announced that a summit conference of the five Central American nations to discuss regional peace proposals has been postponed until August. Jose Azcono Hoyo of Honduras and Vinicio Cerezo Arevalo of Guatemala said after a meeting in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, that the summit, which had been scheduled for next week in Guatemala, will be held Aug. 6-7 in Esquipulas, Guatemala. The conference, which will also include the leaders of El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, will discuss a Costa Rican plan calling for cease-fires in countries fighting civil wars and a commitment to democratic governments in the region.
