Channels 2 and 9 Will Carry Extended Live Coverage of Lakers at City Hall

Channels 2 and 9 will give extensive live coverage to today’s ceremony at City Hall honoring the National Basketball Assn. champion Lakers.
Channel 2 will show “The Young and the Restless” at 11 a.m. instead of 11:30 , then will preempt network programming at noon.
Channel 9’s coverage, with Roy Firestone serving as host, will begin at 11:30 Channel 2’s coverage, with Jim Hill and Pat O’Brien, will begin at noon.
Channels 4 and 7 will report on the ceremony but will not preempt network programming.
The Laker parade to City Hall begins at 11 a.m. at Broadway and 9th.
Tonight at 7, Prime Ticket will show highlights of the day’s activities, including the parade, the City Hall ceremony and the pep rally at the Forum at 3 p.m. The one-hour special, with Geoff Witcher serving as host, will be repeated at 8 and again at 9.
