Great Western Financial is not interested in FCA.

In a short statement, Beverly Hills-based Great Western said it “is not pursuing preliminary discussions held recently with representatives of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board concerning Financial Corp. of America.” Though a company spokesman declined to elaborate, the announcement followed a published report Monday that Great Western was of one several firms interested in buying Irvine-based FCA, the parent company of American Savings & Loan.
