CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Two of the young standouts on the PGA Tour, Paul Azinger and Keith Clearwater, will play in The International golf tournament Aug. 12-16 at Castle Pines Golf Club.
Azinger and Clearwater have combined for two tour victories in recent weeks with a style of play that is well-suited to the International’s format.
Azinger, 27, has won twice this season and leads the tour money list with more than $440,000. He cashed a $225,000 check by sinking a 30-foot eagle putt on the final hole at the Panasonic tournament in Las Vegas on May 3.
Clearwater, a 28-year-old tour rookie, fired a pair of closing 64s to win the Colonial tournament on May 17.
Already entered in the second International tournament are defending champion Ken Green, Jack Nicklaus, Fuzzy Zoeller, Ben Crenshaw, Raymond Floyd and Corey Pavin.
