Andy Ruscitto Signs Contract With Astros

Andy Ruscitto, who set a Fullerton College record with 11 home runs this season, has signed a contract with the Houston Astros and will report to the team’s rookie league affiliate at Sarasota, Fla., June 14.

Ruscitto hit .361 with 38 RBIs and was a first-team All-South Coast Conference selection as a freshman. A 1986 graduate of Valencia High School, he holds the Southern Section career record for home runs with 22. He was drafted by the Astros last June.
