The Region : Irvine Site Possible for Reagan Library

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation said it is considering locating the Reagan presidential library complex on land owned by the Irvine Co. near the University of California, Irvine, campus. Foundation secretary Martin Anderson said her organization has contacted “numerous” colleges, universities and private landholders throughout Southern California during the last week, and has agreed to meet with Irvine Co. representatives to provide more information concerning plans and requirements. An executive of the Irvine Co., which is the largest private landowner in Orange County, said the firm will consider making the land available. The foundation also is reported to be considering sites at USC and Pepperdine University.
