A Raider official pleaded not guilty to punching another Raider executive while the National Football League team was training in Oxnard last summer.
A June 23 jury trial is scheduled for Mike Ornstein, the Raiders’ marketing man, who entered his plea in Ventura Municipal Court.
Ornstein is charged with misdemeanor battery in an incident that left John Herrera, a team senior administrator, with a swollen jaw. Other staffers intervened in the training-table scrap at the Oxnard Hilton Inn.
Herrera pressed the case with the Oxnard Police Dept. after the dispute, which reportedly centered on a misplaced video cassette player.
