Fox Buys Out Partner in Plaza

Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. said Tuesday that it has bought out its partner in Fox Plaza, the posh 34-story office tower recently constructed in Century City on property adjacent to the studio.
Although terms were not disclosed, Fox is believed to have paid $40 million cash to Miller-Klutznick-Davis-Gray Co., the real estate investment and development firm partly owned by Marvin Davis, Denver oilman and former owner of Fox.
Lee Solters, a Davis spokesman, said he did not know the reason for the sale or the percentage of the real estate firm owned by Davis.
Davis sold Fox to a company controlled by media magnate Rupert Murdoch in 1985 for $575 million, but the Fox Plaza project--begun in 1984--continued as a 50-50 venture.
