Aerojet Ordnance Gets $5.5-Million Subcontract

Aerojet Ordnance Co., a Tustin-based weapons systems company, said it has received a $5.5-million subcontract from Aerojet ElectroSystems Co. of Azusa to build the warhead component for the Army’s Sense and Destroy Armor program.
The company said it has been involved in the antitank weapon system program--known as SADARM--for 10 years and that it began research into the warheads four years ago. Aerojet Ordnance and Aerojet ElectroSystems Co. are units of Aerojet General, a GenCorp company based in La Jolla.
