‘PLATINO’

Gregg Barrios writes that Mexican-Americans are being denied their place in history (“A ‘Platoon’ Without Latinos,” April 19). Come on Gregg, give us a break!

I’m a Japanese-American and I saw “Platoon.” It was a superb anti-war movie. I did not see any Japanese-American, Polish-American, American Indian or other ethnic American minorities. But so what?

They were all Americans and they were all there--to segregate our casualties by ethnic class serves no real purpose.
