Chapman’s Walker Scores Tennis Upset at Ojai

Miles Walker of Chapman College upset No. 2-seeded Martin Laurendeau of Pepperdine in the quarterfinals of the men’s independent collegiate division at the Ojai tournament Friday in Ojai.

Walker won, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, defeating Laurendeau in the tiebreaker, 9-7.

Earlier, Walker had defeated Cavin Gillette of Cal State Long Beach, 6-1, 6-3, in a third-round match.

Walker faces Jean LeClercq of Fresno State today at 8 in a semifinal match.
