Local News in Brief : Hidden Hills to Fill Council Vacancy May 4
- Share via
The Hidden Hills City Council has set May 4 as the date it will appoint someone to fill a vacancy on the five-member body. The city is already taking applications for the council seat held by former Mayor Alana Knaster, officials said Wednesday.
Knaster’s move to a neighboring community made her resignation necessary.
The mayor of the community is chosen from among the five council members by majority vote. The City Council appointee chosen May 4 will finish Knaster’s term, which expires in April, 1990, City Clerk Cherie Paglia said.
Seven people have so far applied for the council post in the community of 1,976, she added.
The council’s four remaining council members Monday elected Councilwoman Kathleen Bartizal to the largely ceremonial post of mayor, Paglia said. Bartizal was elected to the council in 1984.
