There were no reports of injury or damage as a minor earthquake shook communities east of San Francisco Bay. The temblor at 8:47 a.m. measured 3.5 on the Richter scale, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. USGS spokeswoman Edna King said the epicenter was eight miles northeast of San Jose on the Calaveras fault near Calaveras Reservoir.
