Middleton Says He Will Sign With Utah

Tustin High School basketball forward Rog Middleton, Orange County’s top percentage shooter this season, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Utah and will sign with the Utes Wednesday.

Middleton, a 6-foot 4-inch senior, averaged 22.3 points and 9.8 rebounds and shot 70% from the field. He holds Tustin’s single-game scoring record with 45 points.

Middleton also visited UC Irvine, Utah State, Washington and San Diego State before committing to Utah.

“We’re excited about having Rog in our program,” said Lynn Archibald, Utah coach. “I like him as a player and also think he’s a neat kid.”
