Fire that began shortly before noon charred 50 acres of brush near Castaic Dam before Los Angeles County firefighters contained the blaze. Firefighter Tom Stevenson of the Antelope Valley dispatch center said the flames erupted about 11 a.m. and were contained two hours later.
