Country music singer Ray Stevens has added a new song, “Would Jesus Wear a Rolex?,” to the currently fashionable lampooning of TV evangelists. The single, written by Chet Atkins and Margaret Archer, was shipped to radio stations late last week, a Stevens spokeswoman in Nashville said. The refrain: “Can you tell me, would Jesus wear a Rolex on his television show?/Would Jesus be political if he came back to Earth?/Have his second home in Palm Springs and try to hide his worth?”
