Film star and director Robert Redford will be given an honorary doctorate at the University of Colorado’s commencement in Boulder next month, even though he flunked out of the school 30 years ago. Redford went to CU in 1954, “but I discovered drinking . . . and flunked out,” he said in an interview three years ago. He left the school in 1956. The selection of Redford was announced Thursday during a meeting of the Board of Regents. Redford, 49, is expected to attend the ceremony May 13.
