San Diego College Baseball : Aztecs Rally in Ninth to Beat USIU

Kevin Clancy doubled with two out in the ninth inning and scored on a ground ball by Anthony Johnson to give San Diego State a 5-4 victory Saturday over United States International University in a nonconference game at SDSU.
James Campbell (6-2) pitched the final three innings in relief for SDSU (27-19-1). Bob Parry led the Aztecs with a single, a double and a triple.
Designated hitter Kevin Robinson was 3 for 4 for USIU (24-14-1). John Ronis, who hit a solo home run in the first inning for the Gulls, was 2 for 5 with two RBIs.
UC San Diego 3-11, Westmont College 0-6--Brian Rude hit a home run in each game to lead UCSD (21-11) to a sweep in a nonconference doubleheader at Westmont (19-20). The Tritons have won 9 of their last 11 games.
Kyle Abbot (5-1) pitched a complete-game shutout for the Tritons in the seven-inning first game. Reliever Paul Burke was the winning pitcher in the second game. UCSD’s Gary Fessia went 2 for 4, including a two-run home run.
