Sweden, aided by 11 penalties called against the United States by a Soviet referee, scored a 6-2 victory over the U.S. in the World Ice Hockey Championships at Vienna.
In other games, Canada and Czechoslovakia skated to a 1-1 tie, the Soviet Union routed West Germany, 7-0, and Finland edged Switzerland, 3-2. After two days, the Soviets and Swedes are 2-0. The United States is 0-2.
Bryan Erickson of the Kings scored a goal for the United States.
