Investigators have uncovered evidence implicating two veteran county sheriff’s deputies in schemes to alter their time cards to collect more than $20,000 in overtime they did not work, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said. Deputies John Stacy, 45, and Richard Hendershot, 49, are suspected of fraudulently filing for overtime while working in the County Jail from February, 1986, until March of this year, Deputy Pete Fosselman said. He said Stacy, a 22-year veteran of the department, is accused of changing time cards to collect $14,490 in overtime during a 13-month period, while Hendershot, a 23-year veteran, allegedly collected $6,600 in overtime he did not work.
