Services Slated for Ex-Rep. Albert L. Reeves

Private family services for Albert L. Reeves, 80, lawyer and former Missouri congressman, will be conducted Saturday at St. Francis Church in Pauma Valley in northern San Diego County.
Reeves, a native of Steelville, Mo., died Wednesday at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla after undergoing emergency surgery.
After service as an Army lieutenant colonel in World War II, Reeves returned to Kansas City and was elected as a Republican member to the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri’s 5th Congressional District. He served one term and resumed the practice of law.
In 1958, he joined Utah International, a construction and mining firm, as a senior vice president, moved to Northern California and lived for many years in the Bay Area communities of Menlo Park and Hillsboro. He retired in 1976 to Pauma Valley.
He leaves his wife, Louise; three daughters, Elaine R. Padovani of Reston, Va., Martha Reeves of Oxford, England, Nancy Reeves of Palo Alto, and two grandsons.
