Quarter Horse Meeting Opens Tonight at Los Alamitos

Quarter horse racing will return to the Los Alamitos Race Course tonight at 7:30, the start of a 74-night meeting for $2.25 million in purses.
There will be racing Tuesday through Saturday, with nine races Tuesday through Thursday, and 10 races on Friday and Saturday. First post time all nights is 7:30.
Among the major stakes programs are the Los Alamitos Derby May 16, the Vessels Maturity June 27 and the Los Alamitos Championship July 25. All three are Grade 1 events with $100,000 purses.
Two major futurities for 2-year olds are the $50,000 Kindergarten June 6 and the $50,000 Dash For Cash July 18.
