More than 2,100 boxes of cookies were spilled over a long stretch of California 99 near the Tulare County town of Pixley when a truck-trailer overturned while traveling at what the California Highway Patrol said was high speed. Northbound traffic had to be detoured around the wreck for nearly six hours after the 3:30 a.m. accident. The unidentified driver was not injured. CHP Officer Jim Taylor said he may have fallen asleep.
