The Federal Aviation Administration’s drug-testing laboratory chief has been reassigned temporarily, pending completion of an investigation into possible mishandling of tests, agency officials said. Delbert Lacefield, who has been with the FAA for 20 years, was removed as head of the forensic toxicology research unit at the FAA’s Civil Aeromedical Institute in Oklahoma City, officials said. Questions have been raised about testing procedures after a Jan. 4 fatal Conrail-Amtrak train wreck.
